How to suffer wisely and well?
1. Suffering is UNAVOIDABLE. Welcome it as a friend.
2. Suffering brings MATURITY. Don’t let it go to waste.
3. Suffering needs WISDOM. Ask God Confidently. He promises to give it generously.
When life’s storm comes, let us deepen our trust in Him as we let perseverance finish its work. Not only will we become more like Christ, but we will also miraculously find pure joy and hope as we cling to Him.

The One Thing That Controls Everything
August 18, 2024 • Pastor Chris McGregor
Our hearts not only dictate our physical health, but also our emotional and spiritual health.
In the same way that clogged arteries lead to a physical crisis, we are very susceptible to a myriad of forces that can knock us down, and keep us far from the life we want. Things like media, disappointment, success, failure and lust can darken our ability to hear from God, and experience the life God created for us to enjoy.
Listen in as Pastor Chris helps us apply a powerful three-thousand-year-old proverb to our twenty-first century lives in Montreal.
How Should Christians React to The Olympic Controversy?
August 11, 2024 • Pastor Chris McGregor
There was some controversy during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, and many Christians took offense.
Many took to social media to voice their displeasure, while others were silent.
How should followers of Jesus react in situations like this?
Using Leonardo DaVinci’s “The Last Supper” in conjunction with this controversy, Pastor Chris guided us through not just how to think, but how to act when others intentionally or unintentionally marginalize our faith.
Finding Peace in The Storm
August 4, 2024 • Bruno Oliveira
In life's storms, are you sinking or walking on water? This week at City Church, we explored how trusting God can transform our perspective, even in the midst of chaos. Just as Jesus calmed the storm and invited Peter to walk on water, He's calling us to keep our eyes fixed on Him.
Remember, when life's waves crash around you, Jesus is right there, ready to catch you.

A Passionate Church
July 28, 2024 • Pastor Christopher Joseph(Joy) • Acts 11:19–30
In Sunday's sermon titled "A Passionate Church," drawn from Acts 11:19-30, we explored the essence of a thriving and vibrant church community that is focused on displaying God’s glory in the city. Emphasizing purpose-driven/mission driven church membership, we delved into the importance of recognizing God's grace at work, embodying the qualities of good people, and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
We discussed the significance of encouraging one another, living by faith, and identifying and training new leaders. Additionally, we highlighted the value of learning and teaching the Bible, maintaining long-term commitment to serve within the local church, and the importance of financial giving.
This sermon called on us to cultivate a passionate and devoted church family that reflects the love and purpose of Christ in every aspect of our lives.
In the Democratic Republic of Congo and many African countries, people come from various tribes, each with its own distinct traits. We often recognize each other by our names and characteristics. This message will draw a parallel between being born again and acquiring the new traits that accompany this transformation. The Apostle Paul, in Colossians 3:12-17, outlines how we should live as followers of Christ, adopting the “new traits” of people belonging to a “new tribe.” As a conclusion, Orphee will introduce the book of Ephesians, touching on the importance of putting on The Armor of God to safeguard us from reverting to our old traits—the ways of the “old tribe.”
