Black Friday or Black Tuesday?

Living the Way of Jesus with Money

November 26, 2023 • Pastor Chris McGregor • Matthew 6:25–27, Hebrews 13:5, 2 Corinthians 9:6–8

Some of us live for Black Friday, scouring deals, rising and falling for the newest gadget or retail therapy. We are happiest when we are shopping for the newest and latest trend.

Some of us live with the cloud of Black Tuesday that famously took place in 1929 as the stock market crashed and plunged the world into an economic crisis that created global panic and starvation. Many of us are gripped by fear and anxiety with money, and are hyper focused on dollars and cents.

Jesus offers us a third way. A way to enjoy the blessings of God, but not to put our contentment or raison d'être in money and possessions. Jesus lived and died to give us freedom both from the slavery of money, and the fear of money and the future.

Listen in to see how Jesus wants to call you out of the world's systems to embrace the kingdom of God with all the joy and peace that Jesus himself provides for you.
