What Our Money Would Say To Us

Black Friday or Black Tuesday?

November 26, 2023 • Pastor Chris McGregor • Matthew 6:25–27, Hebrews 13:5, 2 Corinthians 9:6–8

Some of us live for Black Friday, scouring deals, rising and falling for the newest gadget or retail therapy. We are happiest when we are shopping for the newest and latest trend. Some of us live with the cloud of Black Tuesday that famously took place in 1929 as the stock market crashed and plunged the world into an economic crisis that created global panic and starvation. Many of us are gripped by fear and anxiety with money, and are hyper focused on dollars and cents. Jesus offers us a third way. A way to enjoy the blessings of God, but not to put our contentment or raison d'être in money and possessions. Jesus lived and died to give us freedom both from the slavery of money, and the fear of money and the future. Listen in to see how Jesus wants to call you out of the world's systems to embrace the kingdom of God with all the joy and peace that Jesus himself provides for you.

Leftovers and Bringing

November 19, 2023 • Pastor Chris McGregor • Malachi 3:7–12, Matthew 23:23, 2 Corinthians 8:9, 2 Corinthians 9:6–8

If God is the owner of all our stuff, then we don't give, we bring it back. For many people in the western world, we are not bringing our best to God, but our leftovers. Jesus said to seek first His kingdom, but too many of us prioritize almost everything before God. Listen in as we discover how to supernaturally infuse your finances with the blessings of God.

Stewardship Means Budgeting

November 12, 2023 • Pastor Chris McGregor • Proverbs

Now that we have established God is the Owner and I am the Steward, what do we do next? Even though it isn't your favourite word, it is essential to manage God's money. As we saw last episode, most Canadians are drowning in debt. The average consumer owes $21,400 in non-mortgage debt. Ouch. Listen to an ancient Proverb and see how you can apply it to gain greater control over the elusiveness of money.

Ownership and Stewardship

November 5, 2023 • Pastor Chris McGregor • Psalm 24:1, Matthew 25

What would our money say, if our money could talk? "I am a better servant than a master." "I am a means, not an end." "I disappear quickly unless you pay close attention." As Pastor Chris kicks-off this new teaching series, let's set the foundation by understanding the difference between ownership and stewardship. Everything flows from this critical understanding.
