The Book of Habakkuk

Trusting God In Troubled Times

Habakkuk Chapter 1 Part 1

Baruch Korman • Habakkuk 1:1–7

We are going to begin a new book of study the book called The prophecy of Habakkuk. Now we know virtually nothing of this man, we know his name. And we know what he said. He was a prophet of the Lord. And beyond this, nothing is truly said about him other than what he saw, he recorded. We know that he lived before the Babylonian captivity, before that group of people called the Chaldeans in English...

Habakkuk Chapter 1 Part 2

Baruch Korman • Habakkuk 1:10–17

God, he uses whatever he chooses, in order that his purposes might be fulfilled. And we saw that last week as we began the study of the prophecy of Habakkuk, that God was not pleased with his people. And before we get started, we should ask ourselves that question, always take the word of God and make it personal. Apply it to your life, ask yourself, Is God please with me? Am I doing the things that I ought to be doing? Or am I reflecting more of Israel at that time, when there was corruption and wickedness when his word that laws of God were being ignored and forgotten? Where am I spiritually? This is a question that we should always bring before God, knowing what his thoughts of us are truly based upon, based upon His will His purposes in his work.

Habakkuk Chapter 2 Part 1

Baruch Korman • Habakkuk 2:1–7

Habakkuk Chapter 2 Part 2

Baruch Korman • Habakkuk 2:9–20

In this message, we're going to conclude Habakkuk and chapter two. And we seen in this study up until this time, that God is going to use the kazoo theme that is the child Dean's the Babylonians in order to bring punishment upon his people. But we need to always remember that this punishment is limited, limited in its scope. And in its time, God has said 70 years and no more will the children of Israel be in this Babylonian captivity. And then God is going to move to bring about freedom and liberty to renew his call upon His people, that they might position themselves back in the land, and that they might embrace the heritage that God has given to His people.

Habakkuk 3 Part 1

Baruch Korman • Habakkuk 3:1–7

We all do need that restoration, that renewal in our life that God and only God can bring about. And as recipients of the Holy Spirit because we have entered into that new covenant, we have been sealed. That is our salvation. We have been sealed as those who have been saved by God's grace. And we have evidence of this salvation, because of the indwelling Spirit of God within us the Holy Spirit, and therefore through his anointing and is working. All things are possible. And we can experience that renewal that edification, that power to bring about change in our life, and restore us back to where God would have us to be.

Habakkuk Chapter 3 Part 2

Baruch Korman • Habakkuk 3:7–19

Last week, we began Chapter Three of the prophecy of Habakkuk. And we saw that this entire third chapter is a prayer by the prophet, we saw that that there is a reason to rejoice that God is going to bring encouragement and comfort, he is going to bring restoration. But in this second half of the prayer, and by the way, from a language standpoint, when we look at the text, we find some difficult words. Now, many times when you read a translation, the translators have made it easier to understand. But when you wrestle with the original language, these help this interpretation. This summarizing and clarifying is not there. And therefore, indeed, this latter half of chapter three is a difficult passage. And perhaps it might help that we look at it and summarize what we're going to be studying. So when we look at the specifics, it might be somewhat easier for us to understand. Now, what the passage is saying is this, that God will use difficult circumstances to work out good to bring about a change. And as we talked about last week, to set things in order.
