When we look at those things related to the will of God, we see that the word holiness stands out. And I've shared with you that this word holiness is best understood by the purposes of God. It is only when an individual has been born again, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, that this person can become a vessel an instrument, we can say it this way, a servant of living God, and that we can carry out God's purposes and live in a way that he sees as holy and holiness. God has caused us to be known by his name. When we have entered into that new covenant, we have become by him a new creation. And we are known as a new people, a people of the kingdom, a people that he has placed His spirit within. We want to be people that are reconciled, not only to God, but as we've talked about, to His will. And we see that one of the purposes of the tabernacle and therefore also the temple is for us to be reconciled through being individuals that respond to the conviction of God in our life today as believers, the conviction of the Holy Spirit, that we might experience the fact as God sees us that we are oftentimes guilty before him, and that we might be moved to seek forgiveness, and to do retribution, meaning to pay the price of our offenses to others.
