Do you want to live a sanctified life? That is, do you want to be a vessel, where the power of God, the anointing of the Holy Spirit, is clearly seen in you and through you, that you become an individual that has a godly influence on others, and that you are able to submit to God and be a blessing in the life of others. Now, it's easy to say, Yes, I do. The question is, that's not enough. So what is it that we must do, if those things are going to become a reality in our life? Well, that's what Peter is going to share with us, beginning in chapter two.

And the question that I want to pose to each of us not just tonight, but throughout this weekend is this When these things begin to become more intense persecution for walking and faithfulness? How are you going to respond? Will your behavior match your profession? Are you going to have a walk that truly honors God. And I believe that when we open up Peter's first epistle, that he provides much information, in order that our profession will indeed be accompanied by righteous behavior, by an obedience that truly testifies that our faith is not in ourselves or in anyone other than our Lord and Savior, Messiah

Well, Peters going to answer that question, and the second half of chapter one. Over and over in the Scripture. God wants us to demonstrate submissiveness. We know biblically there's a relationship between submissiveness and humility. And we need to recognize godly authority over our life. Take out your Bible. Let's continue in this first epistle of Peter. And chapter two, we'll begin where we left off.
