Who Can Stop the Lord?
Isaiah 14:23
The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand.
Isaiah 43:13b
I work, and who can reverse it?
Years ago, as a young couple raising a very young family, finances could at times, be very tight. It seemed like several unexpected expenses came up that needed to be paid rather quickly. We did not have the finances in our checking or savings account. What were we going to do? As we went to prayer about this need, I heard the still small voice of God stir in my spirit saying that $1,000 was going to come via the mail. I was a little hesitant to tell Stephen what I felt the Lord had spoken to me. But I finally got up the nerve and quietly shared with him what I felt in my spirit. We checked the mail most days, but somehow, we must have forgotten to stop and get it at the post office for several days. When we did stop to pick it up, I was the one who ran in to get it out of the box. There was a different looking envelope among the magazines and other mail. I stopped and pulled over into a corner, out of the way in the post office. Slowly I opened the strange mail, and much to my surprise and joy, as I pulled the paper out of the envelope, I could see it was a check. Yes, it was a check for exactly $1,000! I left the post office as fast as I could, waving the envelope and check above my head with exuberant joy! Stephen’s face lit up at seeing me so excited. I HAD heard from the Lord! This was the best news first, and then the miracle of the much needed $1,000! You see, when our heavenly Father thinks a thought, it will come to pass, and it will be exactly as He purposes it to be. It will stand! He works and no one can reverse what He has purposed to do. It never ceases to amaze me to catch a glimpse of the infinite care of our heavenly Father over HIs children. Psalm 37:25 says, “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging for bread.” Like us, you may need a financial miracle, or you may have a physical need. Isaiah 53:5 says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed.” He is our healer! Cry out to Him and bring your need to Him. Trust Him to heal you however He chooses. Even emotional challenges and relational challenges can be healed by our Master and Lord. He will purpose to help you no matter what it may be. And no one can reverse what our Father purposes to do.
What about you? What is your need today? Tell Him and then, listen in faith for His direction and answer to prayer. He hears you and He will answer you. He is a good, good Father that will not fail. Trust Him fully today.
