The Mission Is God's

October 29, 2023 • Acts 16

Have you ever thought you understood where God wanted you to be, or what God wanted you to do, only to be surprised by where you end up? You're not alone.

Conflict Is Inevitable...

October 22, 2023 • Acts 15

Everyone experiences conflict. It's a part of life. But when it happens between spouses, family members, friends, co-workers, church staff members, boards, etc... it can be devastating. If you have ever been through a church split, you know what we are talking about. So, how do we deal with it, and does it have to be permanent? Let's see.

A Gospel For Everyone

November 12, 2023 • Acts 17:16–33

Sometimes, the way we tell the story of Jesus needs to be adjusted so that our audience can understand the significance of the person of Jesus. This has been one of the great mistakes made by many missionary efforts down through the ages. We can shoe-horn people into our Western (or Eastern or...) way of thinking. Even Paul knew that. :)

Together - Acts 18

November 26, 2023 • Acts 18

Sometimes it can feel like we have to do life all by ourselves. But, as a friend of mine used to say, "If we do it alone, we deserve to do it alone." In other words, if we want to share this life with others, we need to include them in our lives.

What We Encounter

October 1, 2023 • Acts 14:8–20

Mosaic is a church family where we are committed to living out these rhythms together: Beautifying our world Listening to the Holy Spirit Eating Studying Jesus Living a Sent life This last one, “Sent-ness”, can feel a bit vague. But it is a paradigm that believes that we have something to share. We have hope to share with a discouraged, weary world. We have love to share with folks who feel alone and hurt. These things are rooted in the faith, love and hope we share in Jesus.    Last week we looked at what we are sent with, the message of freedom found in Christ. This week, join us in considering what we discover as we are sent. ***Spoiler alert*** We'll discover different world views and perspectives than our own. Even among followers of Jesus, there are various ways to look at the world. So, how can we bring the message of hope in Jesus to the various situations we encounter?

The Message We Bring

September 24, 2023 • Acts 13:13–52

This fall at Mosaic, I (Aaron) want to consider our rhythm of being Sent. We have different rhythms we practice together as a community: Beautifying the world together Listening to the Holy Spirit together Eating together Studying Jesus together Living a Sent life together As we explore our "sent-ness" this week, let's consider: What we are sent with? What are we being sent for? And, as we consider our own stories: How are we sent?

Installation of Aaron Walters

The word “vocation” comes from the Latin word “vocatio” and is best defined as a “calling”. Unfortunately, it is often used as a synonym for “occupation”, which has to do with what one occupies their time with. Vocation has to do with a person’s strong feeling that they are especially suited to do a particular job or to fulfill a particular role in life.  Today, we celebrate the calling of Aaron Walters as he becomes the lead pastor of Mosaic.
