The word “vocation” comes from the Latin word “vocatio” and is best defined as a “calling”. Unfortunately, it is often used as a synonym for “occupation”, which has to do with what one occupies their time with. Vocation has to do with a person’s strong feeling that they are especially suited to do a particular job or to fulfill a particular role in life.
