How to use the app

Welcome to LRC Grow

Welcome to LRC Grow - the place to go, to find tools and resources to help you learn, engage and grow as a follower of Jesus. Along with the bible and various bits of information, You’ll find TWO main sections in this app - “LRC” and “Grow”. “LRC” has lots of resources for those who are part of our local churches, such as week to week sermons, prayer guides and other helpful content to help equip us as a church family. The “Grow” section is a little different. Grow has been designed to give every Christian useful resources to help them in their pursuit and knowledge of Jesus. We are all called to be with Him, to know Him and to follow Him (Mark 3:14). In this section you will find ... ⭐️ Resources to build strong foundations in our Christian faith ⭐️ Book recommendations ⭐️ Video courses ⭐️ Tools for evangelism ⭐️ Podcasts ⭐️ Deep dives into books of the bible ⭐️ Practical equipping for life as a Christian ⭐️ Content for parents and children There’s loads of content in this app but we believe that everyone who uses LRC Grow won’t just be gaining knowledge, but will be building strong foundations that cause us to worship and serve Jesus even more effectively. Whoever you are and whatever stage of life you find yourself in, LRC Grow has great content to help you grow in God. It’s also important to know that LRC Grow is not just about using the resources, but HOW you use them. Take a look at our user guides, to see how to best use this app and get the most out of it. As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. (Ephesians 4:1, NIV)

Why Use LRC Grow With Others?

You can use LRC Grow with others or on your own. In the app you’ll find specific user guides for how to use the app in a small group, in a one to one discipleship setting, and on your own and we encourage you to take a look at those after this video. We think that the best way to use the resources is with others! This way, you can enjoy all the benefits of mutual discipleship, like sharing revelation, encouraging and challenging one another, in our pursuit of Jesus. As Christians, fulfillment is found in expressing our faith together, making us effective in our mission, as we live our lives in community with one another. To get the most out of any resource, it’s good to ask questions of what you’re reading, watching or listening to. This helps us to pull out what is useful, to get to know Jesus better, and understand how it impacts our life with Him.

What's Inside LRC Grow?

Everything in this app is made up of LRC Grow resources, or external materials. LRC Grow resources are things such as teaching modules and courses, podcasts, and books, and lots of other content which we’ve produced in house, and we’ll continue to add to. The external materials include books, videos, podcasts and many other types of content, from other authors, churches, or ministries, which we’ve benefited from. They’ve helped us grow in our faith, and we’d love to recommend them to you as well. There may be some doctrinal areas where we differ with external authors, but we’re endorsing the main message of each resource we’re recommending.

Got Questions?

LRC Grow has a Question and Answer facility, which enables users to raise any questions they may have, in the course of using its resources. If you do have a question about anything in the app, head to the Q&A page or follow the link below.

Using LRC Grow on your own

There’s lots of ways to get the most out of the app, if you’re using it on your own. Part of growing as a disciple and developing our faith is asking questions and practicalising what we learn. This will help us grow deeper in our faith. So, here are some questions we can ask ourselves that will help us get the most out of each resource. ⭐️ What’s God been saying to you through the material? ⭐️ What’s your takeaway to meditate on, or share with others around you? ⭐️ How has this affected your understanding about who God is? ⭐️ How has this challenged you about changes to your walk with Jesus? ⭐️ Do you have any concerns about anything that you read or watched? ⭐️ What questions have arisen that you would like to explore further? ⭐️ Are there any bible studies you want to do from this? We suggest you keep a journal of your thoughts as you go along, and to write down what God is saying to you. We’ve also provided a notes section for you to use with each resource, and to share with others if you want. Remember if you’re using LRC Grow on your own, you’re not alone. So, why not bless other people by sharing with them what God has said to you, and if you’ve got questions, then head over to the Q&A page.

Taking Notes

In this video we look at how you can take notes inside LRC Grow. You can create new notes from the menu in the top left, or you can create a note that relates to a media item directly from the item itself. Notes are saved to your account.

Using LRC Grow in a one to one setting

Using these resources with someone else, will give you the opportunity to talk through what you’re learning; providing accountability and challenging you to put it into practice. You’ll also be able to pray together and share ideas. So, here are some important things to agree with your partner before starting: ⭐️ Over what timeframe do you want to work through the material? ⭐️ How frequently do you want to discuss the resource together? ⭐️ What format would you like to share with each other - in person, zoom, messages, or maybe a combination? Make sure you agree on these things before you start. Expectations are important for this to work. If you start a book wanting to finish it in a week, but your partner expects it to take six months, then this may present some issues. Here are some questions you could consider together: ⭐️ What’s God been saying to you through the material? ⭐️ What’s your takeaway to meditate on, or share with others around you? ⭐️ How has this affected your understanding about who God is? ⭐️ How has this challenged you about changes to your walk with Jesus? ⭐️ Do you have any concerns about anything that you read or watched? ⭐️ What questions have come up, which you’d like to explore further? ⭐️ Are there any bible studies you want to do from this? Working through these questions together, can really help you sharpen each other in the things of God.

Using LRC Grow in a Small Group

LRC Grow is a great tool to use in a small group setting. The resources provide great content to use and discuss together. They can be used to establish and strengthen foundations, answer some difficult questions, and equip you in your mission and giftings. Here are some tips for using these in a small group: ⭐️ Over what sort of timeframe do you need, to work through the material? ⭐️ It’s good to encourage everyone in the group to contribute, even those who would normally be a bit quieter. ⭐️ Set questions ahead of time, to get the best out of the conversations and to avoid irrelevant tangents ⭐️ Consider the size of the resource before starting. Some books could take months to finish. It may be better to select one chapter to discuss, rather than the entire thing. This will provide natural breaks, and the flexibility to move onto different resources when you feel ready ⭐️ Make sure everyone in the group has enough time to use the resource effectively. This means enough time based on the size of the material, and to join in with group discussions Here are some questions you could consider together: ⭐️ What’s God been saying to you through the material? ⭐️ What’s your takeaway to meditate on, or share with others around you? ⭐️ How has this affected your understanding about who God is? ⭐️ How has this challenged you about changes to your walk with Jesus? ⭐️ Do you have any concerns about anything that you read or watched? ⭐️ What questions have come up, which you’d like to explore further? ⭐️ Are there any bible studies you want to do from this? Working through these questions together as a group, can help sharpen each other in the things of God.
