June 4, 2017 • Steve Forrester • John 20:30–31

Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. —John 20:30-31 As we continue our series Big Questions, we’ve examined the question, “Does God Really Exist?” We’ve seen that since the universe had a beginning, it had to have a cause. That cause must be timeless, spaceless, immaterial, and powerful. Since the universe is finely tuned for human life and of complex design, it must have a designer. We have seen that objective moral law exists, therefore so must a lawgiver. Today we look at the evidence for God provided by the testimony of witness provided by God’s Word, particularly the miraculous. Next week we will hear a powerful example of personal testimony about one person’s search for God.

May 7, 2017 • Steve Forrester • John 8:31–32

Questions, questions, questions. We all have them. Most of the questions we ask on a daily basis focus on navigating our daily lives. What time is the practice? When will you be home? What do you want to do for dinner? Too often, the busyness of our lives keeps us moving at such a pace that we don't stop and ask deeper questions of ourselves. But, those big questions are there, just below the surface. Questions like, "Where did everything come from?", "What is the purpose of life?", "Does God exist?", "What happens when I die?" and so many others. The world offers so many conflicting answers to these questions. How can we know what the truth is? As we start our new series, Big Questions, we discuss the question of truth. What is truth? Is truth absolute? Why does truth matter? Can we know the truth? As we work through these questions together, we will find that in Christ, we indeed find the answer to every big question.
