The busyness of the holidays can be at times overwhelming. Between errands, events, and obligations we may not know whether we are coming or going. At times it can be easy to have the stuff of the season overshadow the most important thing, Christ the Lord, born to be our savior. Where is He in our lives? May we like the magi of old, look with anticipation for the King and humbly worship at His feet.

“I’ll be home for Christmas.” Those classic lyrics certainly ring true for 2020. Who would have thought this Christmas would find many of us at home? This year has been challenging to say the least. But even though we will not be meeting in person during this Christmas Season, we will still celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God showed His love for us by sending His Son born a baby with a mission that took Him to the cross. He was the Lamb of God, born to take away the sins of the world. Jesus calls us to love God and to love others. This Christmas, may we remember this amazing love, and show it to a world in need. Lessons from Christmas: God of Every Circumstance

The Christmas Season is in full swing. Can you believe that it’s only a few weeks away? Decorations are going up. Stores are filled with shoppers and Christmas music. Parties and gatherings are being planned. And yet, in the midst of this celebratory time of year, we recognize that all is not right with the world. Truth be told, often things aren’t right in our own lives. This morning as we begin to look at the Christmas story, may we clearly see that our Heavenly Father is the God of every circumstance.
