The Call Committee Workshop is designed to help LCMC congregations who are in a transition between pastors. Each segment is designed specifically for portions of the call process which assist call teams in reflecting on steps to take as they journey together. It’s good to stop after each segment and evaluate your team’s progress. Determine your priorities in each area and what action items are needed to solidify your call process.

The final steps in the call process will include developing behavioral-based questions; conducting online (such as Zoom or Skype) and in-person interviews, narrowing the pool of candidates, conducting background checks, negotiating the compensation package, and presenting the candidate. The closing segment includes information regarding the congregational call meeting, some ideas for celebrating the arrival of the new pastor, what to know about installation, and final parting thoughts and blessings. (11 minutes)
After viewing the video series, all congregations are encouraged to schedule a follow-up session with the Coordinator for Pastoral Ministry or a call committee coach. This follow-up session will provide your call committee an opportunity to ask any questions you may have, and it will enable our team to offer any assistance that may be needed based on where your congregation is in the call process.
