Closing Worship

The Shift Home

April 12, 2016 • Rev. Per Nilsen

Rev. Per Nilsen wraps up our 2016 Leadership Conference by helping us make the shift home.

Opening Worship

April 10, 2016 • Rev. Nathan Anenson

Since the 4th century, Christianity has enjoyed a privileged place in Western culture, leading to a location-centric and clergy/staff-dependant view of church. While this method has supported disciple-making for centuries, it is no longer effective in today’s world. Rev. Nathan Anenson helps illustrate our need for a shift in how we view church.

Shift #1

April 11, 2016 • Rev. Steve Turnbull & Rev. Jeremey King

What does a kingdom-focused church actually look like? How do we measure success? Rev. Jeremey King and Rev. Steve Turnbull help us to examine the role of the Church in God’s mission. The congregation is not an end in and of itself, but rather God’s chosen vehicle to drive His mission forward.

Shift #2

April 11, 2016 • Rev. Jo Saxton, Mrs. Stephanie Nelson & Ms. Ashley Nelson

According to scripture, pastors are not the doers of all ministry, but rather the equippers and coaches of the ministers. What does pastoral leadership look like in light of an actual functional priesthood of every believer? Rev. Jo Saxton will help us explore the role of pastors in God’s mission from a biblical and Lutheran theological perspective. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
