To Live Is Christ Recap. You’re invited to gather in around the New Testament Letter from the Apostle Paul to new Christian believers in far off Philippi. This amazing letter survives the test of time and culture to speak to believer’s today in 2022. The call to unity, joy, and focus on the Person of Jesus has inspired generations to live lives that honor God and bless others. Much trite and moralistic teaching has come from this letter over the centuries; however, we’ve learned it’s not as easy or simple as many have made it out to be. This letter isn’t just an individualistic proposition of encouragement and good feelings – it’s an incredible call to intentional living as a community of followers of Jesus.

Do you or someone you know worry about finances, making ends meet, or contentment? Come and bring those people with you, you will find hope! God is the same yesterday and today. In days of old – the patriarchs found God faithful, and it catapulted their faith forward. In the old testament the title Jehovah Jireh (God Provides) was coined. Today, The Apostle Paul counsels us centuries and miles removed from Philippi to trust in the faithfulness of God, it’s a life skill that we need to pursue mastering. Listen to Paul’s personal story this Sunday as we seek to learn to trust and rest in the Lord Jesus.

We’ll explore the value of a cold drink of water. It may surprise you!

Regardless of the circumstances, our thoughts exert a great influence over our lives. How are we to address our thought life and what is the role of the community (aka church) in such matters? Is there a reason we’re in church together that might help us with our thought lives? Where does mental health come in on the question of thought life? The answers to these questions will both encourage and give you practical hope.

The Apostle Paul leads us out of the woods of legalism and spiritual peacocking to discover the life changing power of surrendering one’s life to Jesus. Can a Christian dictate terms to God? Are you experiencing a vibrant relationship with Jesus or just sort of going to church? Isn’t there supposed to be more?

Join us as we hear from one of Lakeside Elders, Jonathan Clark while Pastor Vince is out of town. Philippians 2:19-30 In this passage we find Paul expressing great appreciation and affection for Timothy and Epaphroditus who have joined him in his ministry. Many of us can probably relate to both the experience of having friends that can be relied upon and also situations where we’re overwhelmed and there is no help to be found. What does it look like for our relationships and community to go beyond the current worldview and to bear one another’s burdens and live as brothers and sisters in Christ? We also see that Paul is trying to accomplish much with very little. Jesus said that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Is this still true today? We will discuss how we can participate in the plentiful harvest that Christ has prepared.

Are you tired of the roller coaster of emotions that leaves you exhausted and wondering, “Am I good enough?” Salvation is the complete work of God that we appropriate by grace through faith, and salvation is only the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ. What then does it mean to “work out our salvation?” Join us Sunday as we explore Paul’s follow up words to his powerful statement, “To live is Christ.”

Join us at the Kirkland Marina under the waterside pavilion for Father's Day and outdoor worship. With lush green grass to play on – outdoor worship provides a unique opportunity for parents to sit down with their children and worship together. The scene couldn’t be better – Lakeside at the lakeside (Lake Washington that is!). Coffee, donuts, and seats will be set up and ready for you when you arrive. Invite a friend or family to come with you and worship the Lord, and take Dad out for a treat after!

After a long 2 years of COVID restrictions and on/off quarantining – we’ve grown; however, we have not had time to get to know one another. We’ll explore Jesus and the Apostle Paul’s teaching around the family of God (the church). Why is it important that we don’t fall into a “my 4 and no more” mentality? How do we keep an open seat at our table – to welcome in new people and give them a place of belonging among us? You won’t want to miss a moment! Bring a side dish/salad for the picnic to follow the message!
