The blood of Christ brings complete satisfaction for sin to God. Since this is true, we must understand how we benefit from that shed blood. What must we do to have the blood applied to our souls to cover our sins?

It must be understood that trusting one’s obedience as a way of retaining salvation is far from being only a Jewish problem. It is still a problem today for Christians who struggle with legalism. So, Paul is also working to defend the cross. Faith + works nullify the cross, Galatians 3.21.
