Nathan Shannon, PhD
Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology
Dr. Shannon graduated with a BFA in music performance from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) and then pursued graduate studies in music at the Rotterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands. He then earned an MAR in theology and a ThM in historical and theological studies from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia, PA), and a PhD in theology from the Free University of Amsterdam (Netherlands). Dr. Shannon was previously Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, and Lecturer in systematic theology at WTS. Dr. Shannon's research interests include systematic and biblical theology in the Reformed tradition (esp. prolegomena and the doctrine of God), philosophical theology, and apologetics. He joined the Department of Systematic Theology at Torch Trinity in the spring of 2015. Dr. Shannon and his wife Sabina have two children: a daughter, Mia, and a son, Elliot.
