Good Friday – Why is it “Good”?
Is good Friday really “good”? It may
seem odd that people celebrate the day
Jesus’ was crucified as “good.” Obviously,
the suffering Jesus went through on
Good Friday was not good. He was
whipped, beaten, mocked, and killed in a
very violent way. How can that be good?
When our focus is only on the
process, we tend to minimize the
outcomes that it produces. Jesus focus was
not on the cross, but what was beyond the
cross.
“looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of
our faith, who for the joy that was set before
Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
has sat down at the right hand of the throne of
God” (Hebrews-12:2)
