The Gospels Pt 16

September 14, 2021 • Carmellia Chavers

Hello! Hello! Thank you for listening to my podcasts. This week I am on The Gospels: Part 16. I have to start reading at Luke 11 because I skipped over it last time. This is the chapter were Jesus teaches the disciples to pray. Isn’t it strange that the disciples ask him that question? But as we know, throughout the Gospels, Jesus would go away to pray. Mostly at the end of the day. Also in this chapter, the Pharisees and scribes are trying to find ways to catch him breaking the law. And in Mark 12, Jesus has words with the religious leaders. They question Him about paying taxes, about the Resurrection and the Greatest Commandment. Jesus also tells the disciples about the widow and her 2 mites. Read along or just listen. Share with a friend. Be well and be blessed.

Hello! Thank you for choosing to listen to my show. This story is part of a series, “They Put A Hit On Them!” In Genesis, I started with Moses and how Pharaoh tried to take him out as a baby. Then I told you about how Joseph was sold into slavery at the age of 17 and taken to Egypt, thrown into prison, eventually he interrupted the Pharaoh’s dreams and ended up being The Lord of the Land. He saved Egypt and his family during a 7 year famine. Now, I move to 1 Samuel where we learn about David, who was chosen by God to be His king. King Saul tried to killed him after the people admired David more than they did Saul. Thank you so much for listening. Be well. Be bless.

Happy New Year! Instead of being resolution oriented for the new year, be goal oriented. Make small goals, short term and big goals, long range. Write them down then check them off as you complete each one. Very satisfying. The title for this reading is, “They Put a Hit on Them”, is how the stories of the powers that be, plotted to kill or to get rid of leaders that God willed to rescue His people. First we are going to read about Joseph in Genesis 37:1-33, Gen. 37:36. Gen. 41:34-44. Then we will read about Moses in Exodus 1:5-10. Ex. 2:11-15. Then Ex. 3:1-10. It is so interesting how there were so many attempts to stop, slow down or wipeout the people of Israel. God used the evil that was put against them for the good of His people. A very interesting perspective. Enjoy.

Hello, hello! On my series, The Gospels, I will be reading from Luke 16. Jesus tells his disciples the parable of the Unjust Servant and of the rich man and Lazarus. In John 16, Jesus promises the disciples the Holy Spirit. And He also tells them, ask anything in His name and He will give it. And in Matthew 17, 3 of Jesus’ disciples witness the transfiguration of Jesus. Jesus heals an epileptic that His disciples could not heal. And Jesus tells Peter what to do so that they pay the tax that is asked of them. Thank again for listening. Be well. Be blessed and be safe.
