APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
• What can you say about God from the book of Genesis? If Genesis were the only biblical book accessible to you how much would you understand about the Gospel?
• The biblical flood has become a sensationalized epic (Gen 6-9). Have you considered the horror of the worldwide flood? How do you feel about a God who destroyed all created life outside of a single boat. How does that inform your view of eternal judgment?
• Who is responsible for the Abrahamic Covenant (Gen 12:3)? God or Abraham?
• Do you believe God is sovereign? What stories in Genesis reveal God’s sovereignty? How does this belief influence your view of God’s work in your life?

Deuteronomy: The Book of Obedience

APPLICATION QUESTIONS: 1. What commitment is inherent in the phrase, "the Lord our God"? It is used about 300 times in Deuteronomy. What expression do you use describing your relationship with God? 2. Read Deuteronomy 10:12-13. Does God require this of you? How telling are these commands as a description of your life? How were the commands for Israel's good? 3. If you are a Christian parent, how does Deuteronomy 6:7-9 and 11:18-21 influence the way you teach your children? Is there one step you can take to teach them better? 4. What is the significance of the land of promise in the book of Deuteronomy? What does the land mean for Israel’s obedience and for Israel's prophetic future?

APPLICATION QUESTIONS: 1. Does God’s judgment on the older generation of Israel seem harsh to you (See Numbers 14:34)? What about God’s judgment of Korah’s rebellion? Do you worship a God of wrath and judgment as well as one of grace and forgiveness? 2. Discuss the test for adultery in Numbers 5. How is “jealousy” defined in this context? In what way does the practice make you feel uncomfortable or comfortable? How would you explain this law to a friend? 3. What do you frequently complain about? What does your murmuring communicate about God and his provision for your needs? As a 4. Christian how do you sift between righteous and unrighteous complaints? 4. How is the Gospel communicated in the book of Numbers?

Leviticus: The Book of Holiness

Leviticus teaches that God is interested in every aspect of his people’s lives. What areas of life have you excluded God? 3. Since God desires his people to be holy (Lev 19:2), how are you living a holy, set apart life? 4. Does the book of Leviticus teach the Gospel? How so?
