About John Leake
John Leake was born and raised in Dallas and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1989. He has written four books. His first, “Entering Hades: The Double Life of a Social Killer,” was a New York Times Sunday Book Review “Editor’s Choice,” a Men’s Vogue “Best Book of 2007”, and the inspiration for "The Infernal Comedy,” starring John Malkovich. His second book, “Cold A Long Time: An Alpine Mystery,” was the winner of the 2012 Independent Publisher Award. His most recent book, “The Meaning of Malice: On the Trail of the Black Widow of Highland Park,” details the life and crimes of a notorious Dallas socialite in the seventies and early eighties named Sandra Bridwell.
