Sometimes we can become stuck in different problems and challenges in life. The Gospel of John tells about a man who had been suffering with a debilitating physical condition for 38 long years - that’s a long time to suffer and wonder whether you are ever going to get well. In 38 years, this man was stuck and no one would help him - until Jesus comes along. The great hope and reality is that Jesus comes to you when you are stuck in one situation or another - and when things seem like they will never get better, Jesus is with you especially then!

What are the regrets you have about your life? What are the things you wish you could go back in time and do differently? Awareness of our past mistakes is painful, but the good news is that Jesus died on the cross to set us free from the guilt and pain that comes from our sin. “God demonstrated his love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

On Palm Sunday, Jesus came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey - a symbol that He was coming as the Messiah, but coming to make peace and not war. Jesus was coming to lay down His own life as a sacrifice to make peace between God and humanity possible. The good news is that He came to bring peace between you and God and to bring peace to your heart and mind, even in this challenging time!

Too often, the difficulty of the present moment lead us to give up on the future. This was the case for Mary and Martha when their brother died - and while even Jesus wept at the news, he reminded them of the bigger picture in which Lazarus would yet again live. Similarly, God is inviting you to see the big picture of ultimate good news He has in store for you, even and especially when you are distracted by the pain and difficulty of certain moments along the way.
