Exodus Chapter 8 tells of more judgments that God sent on Pharaoh and the land of Egypt. In the previous chapter, He showed Pharaoh His power by turning a rod into a serpent and by turning the water throughout the land into blood. But Pharaoh still did not relent.

In Exodus Chapter 3, we learn about an important episode in the life of Moses. While he was on a mountain, God spoke to him through a burning bush. However, even though the bush was on fire, it was not consumed. God told Moses to remove his shoes as he was standing on holy land.
