This is a weekly worship gathering message at Hillcrest Church in Bremerton, WA led by Pastor Brian Compton.

We are in a series called "The Shepherd" on Psalm 23.

The Shepherd carries two tools to guide and protect his flock: a rod and the... STAFF. This message is on the staff of a shepherd and what He does with it. Since the Shepherd constantly carried the staff, the sheep considered it a part of him so he would use it to touch the sheep as they went by for extra attention, which the sheep loved.

What is the point of all the contact? One main benefit is to heal hurt.
How does God do that? He wants us to deal with our hurt.
