One of the most uncomfortable texts of Scripture are centered in the book of Judges. Judges is called Israel's Dark Ages for a reason. It is dark and grim! We look at Judges and a theology of horror as we reflect on several gory stories with women–some as heroines, while others as victims. What can we gain from such gruesome stories and why are they in Scripture?
