Heart Position

Part 4 - Positioning ourselves

October 5, 2022 • Pastor Bracken Christian

1 Pet 2:4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

James 4:7 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

OUR PURSUIT OF FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD DETERMINES THE QUALITY OF LIFE WE LIVE AND LIGHT WE WALK IN.

THIS WORSHIP IS A LIFESTYLE WE LIVE.

DAVID SAID, “It is good for me to draw near to God” (Ps 73:28).

Matt 11:28 Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

NKJV Psalm 63:8 My soul follows close behind You;

KJV My soul follows hard after thee:

NASB My soul clings to You

THE SEPTUAGINT GREEK OLD TESTAMENT RENDERS THIS VERSE;
“My soul has been glued to you”

THE HEBREW WORD IS Dabaq. To cling to, to adhere to firmly as if with glue.
It also is used in a loving and devoted way to mean “to be attached to someone or something by the heart strings.”

A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL “CLEAVE” TO HIS WIFE (GEN 2:24)

WHAT ARE THE BASICS OF STAYING CLOSE?

THE LIFESTYLE OF PRAISE...

Psalm 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

Ps 42:8 The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime;
And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.

MESS Psa 50:23 It’s the praising life that honors me. As soon as you set your foot on the way I’ll show you my salvation.”

ISAIAH 61:3 The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting

PRAISE CHANGES THE CLIMATE AROUND YOU.
IT’S THE ATMOSPHERE ADJUSTER.

TOO MANY CHRISTIANS ARE TRYING TO GET A HARVEST FROM A DRY CLIMATE

Ps 68:1 Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered,

IF YOUR LIFE IS DRY AND DEPLEATED YOU NEED TO LET GOD ARISE!

Psa 107:21 Let them praise the lord for his great love and for all his wonderful deeds to them. 22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.

THE LACK OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING IS A SPIRIT OF THE LAST DAYS.

KJV Psa. 92:1 it is a good thing to give thanks unto the lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, o most high

KJV Psa. 107:21 oh that men would praise the lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 22 and let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

PRAISE EXPRESSES APPRECIATION, GRATTITUDE, HAPPINESS AND AFFECTION

LUCIFER WAS ORIGINALLY IN CHARGE OF THE MUSIC OF HEAVEN.
Ezk 28:13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared.

THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR MOUTH or LIPS –
Psa. 109:30 With my mouth I will give thanks abundantly to the lord; and in the midst of many I will praise him.

Psa 63:3 Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise you. 4 So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in your name. 5 My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.

Psa 71:8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day.

Psa. 47:1 O clap your hands, all peoples; shout to god with the voice of joy.

Heb 13:15 by him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to god continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
