Judgement Begins in the House of the Lord

May 12, 2024 • Pastor Josh Weidmann • Amos 2:4–16

As God’s people, we must learn from God’s people in the past.

In the book of Amos, God has moved to the bullseye in His judgment from people in general to His people specifically. He started by announcing what all the surrounding nations had done wrong; now, he turns his attention to his people. He is not just pronouncing judgment on their actions but speaking to their disloyal hearts.

Those of us who have faith in Christ are now God’s people. He has redeemed us and made us His own. While He is concerned with our actions, His more significant concern is our hearts. He wants to know that we are wholly His to the core of our being.
