Up till Gethsemane Jesus displays confidence, authority, and fearlessness. • Authoritatively casts out demons with a word. • Boldly confronts hypocritical relig leaders. • Fearlessly walks on water. • Tenderly touches & heals people with leprosy. But at Gethsemane on the eve of his crucifixion, he seems different. Why? Because he’s about to drink from a cup so we could drink from a different one.

SHADOW OF THE CROSS Pt.3 - Satisfied

Today’s message is one of the most difficult parts of this series because it deals squarely with an issue we gently touched last week: God’s wrath. As one contemporary commentator recently stated, “The doctrine of the wrath of God has fallen on hard times. In today’s world, any concept of God’s wrath upsets our modern sentiments. It’s too disconcerting, too intolerant.” And for those who regard God’s wrath as “so OT”, the NT is not shy it. John 3:36 (NIV) "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them." If we receive Jesus as Savior & Lord, we must also receive what He and His apostles taught about wrath.
