One of the most surprising metaphors the Bible uses for the church is the body. And yet, as we read what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 12, his metaphor of the body makes some important points about life in Christ’s church. We’ll explore that today and why it matters to every one of us who have chosen to follow Jesus.

The church is called to be missional. We may envision the term "missional" as overseas missions or the things the church staff does. But could it be that we are also called to be missional? Today we will take a look at evangelism and discipleship. Is the church an entity whose time has come and gone? Is it outdated and filled with hypocrites who confuse its message? Where did the church come from? Whose idea was it, and why did it matter back then? And does it still matter today? We just might discover that many of us don’t really understand the church and its purposes. We just might discover that God has always had a bigger hand in the church than we ever imagined!
