April 9, 2023 • Randy Hageman • Mark 16, Romans 6:23, Galatians 5:1, John 10:10, Revelation 21:4

A lot of Americans believe Jesus was really raised from the dead, but many of them also believe that this was simply a past event that has no relevance today. But what if we told you it did have relevance, that the resurrection of Jesus is as important to us today as it was to his first followers two thousand years ago? Arrest, Trial & Denial

April 2, 2023 • Randy Hageman • Mark 14:43–72, Zechariah 13:7, John 2:19, Mark 10:33, Luke 22:61

As Jesus faces arrest and trial, these last hours of Jesus’ life should convince anyone who chooses to follow him that being a disciple of Jesus has never included a promise or guarantee that our lives would be easier, but in doing the will of our Heavenly Father, they will ultimately be better! And yet, even as Peter denied Jesus, there’s also hope for us when we ourselves fail to follow Jesus. So, even as Jesus’ life is about to be placed in the hands of his enemies, God is still in control, and God’s purpose and plan will be accomplished!

The Garden of Gethsemane

March 26, 2023 • Randy Hageman • Mark 14:32–42, 2 Corinthians 5:21, John 3:36

As Jesus finishes the Last Supper, he leads his disciples out to the Garden of Gethsemane. Knowing the cross stands before him, Jesus seeks God’s will through prayer, and in doing so, shows us both his human and divine natures. But because he knows God’s Will is always best, he reaches his decision, a decision we are often confronted by, as well. What does Jesus teach us about our lives in the garden?

The Gospel of Mark : The End?

March 12, 2023 • Randy Hageman • Mark 13, Daniel 7:13–14, 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

Mark 13 is a challenging and difficult chapter as Jesus prophesizes about future events. It seems clear that he was actually prophesying about two different events, but it’s been difficult to determine how Jesus splits up his prophecies between the two events in this chapter. But even though there is some ambiguity here, as we’ll see, Jesus still offers us some concrete teachings for the daily living of our lives.
