The Art of Neighboring - Part 4

The Art of Receiving

October 3, 2021 • Randy Hageman • Luke 7:37–39, Philippians 4:15–17

Jesus told us it is better to give than receive, but are there times when receiving can be a true act of love, an opportunity to grow a relationship with a neighbor? It’s an interesting thought, but the Apostle Paul and Jesus both show us times when this was true. So, we’ll explore what prevents us from receiving from others, and how can we do this in ways that bless our neighbors and create a sense of community in our neighborhood.

What would our communities look like if we took Jesus’ command to love our neighbors as ourselves seriously?  In this four-week series based on Jay Pathak and Dave Runyon’s, The Art of Neighboring, we will focus on the people that live right around us and learn what it means to be a good neighbor. We will discuss the importance of pushing through the uncomfortable feelings that come with communicating, investing in, and caring for the people who live near us.
