Why did he choose an ordinary young couple or have his heavenly host of angels make the first announcement of His Son’s birth to a small group of shepherds out in the field? Is it possible that the very people He chose is something that can give each one of us hope?

Sometimes it’s easy to miss the main point. In this crazy year of pandemic and financial turmoil and wild politics, we need Christmas. We need to enjoy traditions and family and experience the sounds and sights and magic of this holiday. We need to come home to Christmas. But we need to come home to the real Christmas, and not something manufactured by our culture. For it is in the real Christmas that we find the home God intended for us to experience.
