Additionally, we will take a look at factual information regarding the Bible, such as: "who wrote it?", "how many books are in it?", and "when was it written?". Objectives for Session One: 1. God wants us to know Him, which is why He gave us the Bible. 2. The Bible is the perfect resource for knowing God. 3. The Bible is completely inspired by God.

See that these characteristics of the Bible are synonymous with characteristics of God.

3. "What is the Bible?"

To cap off our study of "What is the Bible?", there remains nothing more crucial than having a plan when it comes to studying the Word on your own. Use this session to grasp a foundation of how to approach the Word and apply it to your life. Session Three Objectives: 1. Have a better understanding of how to study the Bible. 2. Be able to describe our personal study of God's Word.

4. "Is the Bible True?"

After seeing WHAT the Bible is, we now must consider how we KNOW it to be true. To do so, we will see first why we don't naturally believe it to be truth. Only through the Spirit of God do we become equipped with the proper lens to see the Bible as it really is. Session One Objectives: 1. Identify the way we will reach the answer to if the Bible is true. 2. Discover why we don't innately believe the Bible to be true.

In "New Sight" we will unpack the avenues by which the Holy Spirit changes our perspective of scripture and introduces our mind to God's mind. Objectives for Session Two: 1. The Bible's contents were received by revelation. 2. The Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit. 3. The Bible is authenticated by it's effects. 4. The Bible is able to produce faith.

6. "Is the Bible True?"

As the Holy Spirit illuminates the truth of God's Word, we must become an active participant alongside it's work. See the three ways we can come alongside the Spirit by putting the Word to work in us. Objectives for "Helping Our Belief": 1. Understand three ways to help ourselves believe in the Bible.

7. "Who Is God?"

In "Hello, My Name Is..." we will begin answering the question "Who is God?". God is given a variety of names all throughout scripture, and these names actually help us better understand who He is. Examine the different names God is given in His Word to gain understanding of His character. Objectives for "Hello, My Name Is...": 1. See how names can be used to describe someone. 2. Better understand the character of God through the names scripture gives him.

8. "Who Is God?"

God is ultimately our Creator, and created us for a specific purpose while we live our lives on earth. However, God is complete and without need. In "A Mirrored Image", see the love God has for us by creating us with great intent. Objectives for "A Mirrored Image": 1. We are created in the image of God. 2. Our image is His purpose. We are to mirror the qualities that God possesses in our lives. 3. God is complete and doesn't need us to be His image bearers, but allowed us to do so because of His love for us. 4. God is three persons in one, referred to as the Trinity.

The Holy Spirit aids us in being image bearers of God.

Mankind was brought into the world not accidentally or coincidentally, but providentially. Just as a baseball bat is made with great purpose to be used a specific way, so mankind was created. Objectives for "One Of A Kind": 1. We are made in God's image for a purpose. 2. Man was created uniquely -- with unique opportunities and responsibilities

Our understanding of who created us and how we were made should shape the way we live our lives. 2. Complete a self-assessment on the way we bear the image of Christ.
