When You Feel...

Alone / Lonely

[NOTE: I typically don't post this sort of recommendation in these Scripture Topics, but this particular topic hits home pretty hard. I've been through a LOT of growth over the past 2.5 years of my life. These years have been some of the hardest, yet most exciting and most rewarding times of my life. If it weren't for me having a relationship with God, I honestly wouldn't have made it through all the growing pains. I spent A LOT of time with God, one-on-One. I spent a LOT of time talking with Him and resting in His love. I spent a LOT of time with four songs on repeat and they helped me through some of my hardest times, so I want to share them with you. 1. Never Alone - Zach Taylor 2. The God Who Makes A Way - Zach Taylor 3. Jireh - Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music 4. Another In the Fire - Hillsong UNITED I want to encourage you to check them out on YouTube - I pray they help you, too!] I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave,[a] you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. - Psalm 139:7-10 NLT Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” - Hebrews 13:5 AMP The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. - Isaiah 58:11 NLT No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. - Joshua 1:5 NLT This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9 NLT ‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ - Isaiah 41:10 AMP When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end. - Isaiah 43:2 MSG Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” - Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT Father God, I thank You right now, that I am NOT alone. You have promised in Your Word over and over that You will NEVER leave me - You will NEVER abandon me. My parents may have abandoned me - my friends may have walked away from me, left me standing on my own. Oh, but Faithful God, I know I was never truly alone, for YOU are always with me. Thank You, God for always being with me - through every storm, every victory, every trial, every time of rest, every time of rejoicing - every part of my life, walking with me through this life and helping me. I love You, so much, God! Thank You!

Angry

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: you must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. – James 1:19 NLT Be angry [at sin—at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior], yet do not sin; do not let your anger [cause you shame, nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down. And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness]. – Ephesians 4:26-27 AMP Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. – Ephesians 4:31-32 NLT A person without self-control is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out. – Proverbs 5:28 MSG Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs. – Proverbs 19:11 NLT Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper – it only leads to harm. – Psalm 37:8 NLT Control your anger, for anger labels you a fool. – Ecclesiastes 7:9 NLT Say this prayer aloud – Father, I cast down that spirit of fear that is causing me to be angry over circumstances, situations, and people. I draw near to You, so You will draw near to me, just as You promise in Your Word (James 4:8). I ask for Your help. I speak PEACE, PEACE, PEACE now in the name of Jesus! On purpose, I choose to walk in the fruit of the spirit of self-control. I release all anger and negative emotions. I relinquish my state of mind and life over to You, NOW, In Jesus’s name!!

Anxious / Worried

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” - Psalm 46:1 NLT “For I the LORD your God keep hold of your right hand; [I am the Lord], Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’” - Isaiah 41:13 AMP “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” - Matthew 6:34 NLT “Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]” - John 14:27 AMP “So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, “The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?” - Hebrews 13:6 AMP "If you will humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, in His good time He will lift you up. Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you." -1 Peter 5:6-7 TLB “What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be successful] against us?” - Romans 8:31 AMP "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7 TLB "Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way." - Psalm 23:4 TLB The Lord is my light and my salvation – so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surround me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. The one thing I ask of the Lord – the thing I seek most – is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in His Temple. For He will conceal me there when troubles come; He will hide me in His sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. - Psalm 27:1-5 NLT Say this prayer aloud: Father, it is by Your Word that I have placed faith and hope in You. You have given me salvation and abundant life. All glory is Yours. Teach me and remind me of Your Word, so that I will be able to be fully equipped to live for You and stand against the enemy. I speak a calm and peaceful mind. I receive Your strength and declare that You are my safe place. I will not be anxious about anything at all, for You have given me Your perfect peace! I rest in You. Thank You, for taking such good care of me and taking up all of my concerns and anxiety, so that I can be at peace and free, in Jesus’s Name, Amen!

Depressed

I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] - Philippians 4:13 AMP Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. – Psalm 55:22 NLT casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. - 1 Peter 5:7 AMP The helpless call to Him, and He answers; He saves them from all their troubles. – Psalm 34:6 GNT The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] – John 14:27 AMP Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7 TLB You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! – Isaiah 26:3 NLT Say this prayer aloud: Lord, Your Word says You're my burden bearer. I come giving this state of misery to You. You promise to help those who call on You. I feel so lost and alone, but I know that my feelings lie to me. You don’t lie, God. You promise to rescue me and take care of me. I defy my feelings and I trust You, God. I trust You. I may have to say it over and over until I overcome my feelings, but I trust You! I know You are always with me, and will never leave me, nor forsake me. Now I say, "the Joy of the Lord is My Strength and I will live, laugh, praise, and not die, according to Nehemiah 8:10 and Psalm 118:17!” Just as 1 Corinthians 2:16 says I have the mind of Christ, so do I declare that I have the mind of Christ in Jesus' Name! Amen!

Doubtful

Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” - Genesis 3:1 NASB Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” -Matthew 14:31 NASB So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. – Romans 10:17 NLT And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.” - Matthew 21:21 ESV But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. - James 1:6 – NIV And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. – Mark 11:22-24 AMPC What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. – Hebrews 11:1 TLB Say this prayer aloud: Father, God, I come to You and lay it all out. You know what I’m going through. You know what I’m facing. This situation feels bigger than me. I don’t know how, but I know that You will work all of this out for my good and my benefit. You promise that to be true in Romans 8:28 GWT when You said, “We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom He has called according to His plan.” I know nothing and no one can separate me from Your love. Your plans for me are to prosper me. Your plans for me are for my good and my benefit. Therefore, I know that anything I’m facing that isn’t good, did not come from You! So I speak to the situation and say “you MUST work out for my good, in Jesus’s name!” I trust You, God. I trust You are for me. I trust You’ve got my back. This situation is in good, reliable hands because it is in Your hands! I love You and thank You, for working it all out for me! In Jesus’s name, Amen!

Fearful

Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with You; do not look around You in terror and be dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen and harden You to difficulties, yes, I will help You; yes, I will hold You up and retain You with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. - Isaiah 41:10 AMPC "I prayed to the Lord, and He answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces." - Psalm 34:4-5 NLT "So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you." - Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9 AMP "Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way." - Psalm 23:4 TLB The Lord is my light and my salvation – so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surround me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. The one thing I ask of the Lord – the thing I seek most – is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in His Temple. For He will conceal me there when troubles come; He will hide me in His sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. - Psalm 27:1-5 NLT "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?” - Psalm 56:3-4 NIV “The LORD is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” - Psalm 118:6 NLT “Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.” - Proverbs 29:25 NLT "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]." -2 Timothy 1:7 AMP "But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear their threats (or what they fear); do not be frightened." -1 Peter 3:14 NIV "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." - 1 John 4:18 NIV Say this prayer aloud: Father God, You did not give me a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind!..and because of that, I REFUSE TO FEAR! I refuse to fear, because You are my refuge and stronghold in the time of the storm. I cast down thoughts, anxieties, worries, fear, and anything or anyone that's trying to take my peace. I declare aloud, I WILL NOT FEAR! Psalm 91 says You hide me in the secret place of the Most High and in Your presence is the fullness of joy! Because of that, I know that ALL IS WELL. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Peer Pressure

Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals. - 1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one despise the other. You cannot serve god and money. - Mathew 6:24 ESV Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - Roman 12:2 ESV No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV

Stressed / Overwhelmed

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. - Proverbs 16: 3 NIV He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. - Psalm 23:3-4 NASB Our God says, “Calm down, and learn that I am God! All nations on earth will honor Me.” - Psalm 46:10 CEV As Jesus and His disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to Him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” - Luke 10:38-42 NIV Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. - Colossians 3:15 AMP For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, - Romans 8:6 NASB Father, thank You that no matter what stresses in life come up, You are still Jehovah Shalom [the Lord our Peace] and You are always with us. Thank You, that we can sit at Your feet and rest in the peace You give us and that peace is perfect for every life situation. When life gets busy, Holy Spirit, help us to keep our thoughts fixed on You, so that we can handle the busyness of life without getting overwhelmed or distracted. Help us to balance our time and to manage it wisely, so that we can find rest and still get everything done that needs done. Give us wisdom and discernment so that we can walk in Your peace and choose the better things as Mary did. We choose to calm down and keep our minds on Holy Spirit. In Jesus's Name, Amen!

Tempted

Can he walk on hot coals and not blister his feet? - Proverbs 6:28 NLT The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him. - James 1:12 ESV A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all the strategies of the devil. - Ephesians 6:10-11 NLT Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so that you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. - Ephesians 6:13 NLT Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. - Romans 13:14 NRSV But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. - Romans 13:14 NKJV Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak! - Matthew 26:41 NLT For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet He did not sin. - Hebrews 4:15 NIV Father, the spirit indeed is willing to come against the desires of the flesh. In order for us to be victorious over our flesh, You have given us Your Word to renew our minds [Romans 12:2]. Thank You, that You sent Your Son in order to free us from sin and condemnation. Thank You, that because we have chosen for You to be our Lord and Savior that we no longer have to give in to temptation, but can stand and fight [Ephesians 6:10-18, 2 Corinthians 10:5]. We come against the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ and refuse to gratify our flesh. We do what James 4:7 says, "So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Thank You Jesus, that You are my Strength. Praise You, Jesus! I declare by faith that I am more than an overcomer [Romans 8:37]. Thank You, Jesus, that YOU have already given me the victory - which includes the victory to overcome any temptation [1 Corinthians 15:57]! Thank You for who You are and all that You do. In Jesus's Name, Amen!
