Ron Jones Class

God doesn't just want us to read His Word, He wants us to know it and live its truth. That's why Explore the Bible takes groups book by book through Scripture, framing every passage in its appropriate biblical and cultural context. This winter, we’ll study the first 19 chapters of Genesis. The old saying warns us that those who ignore the past are destined to repeat its mistakes. In Genesis 1-19, readers are given a front-row seat to where everything began—and how it all fell apart. Even more important, we see how a loving God moved to restore the shattered pieces by pointing His people toward a future hope. Our world is just as broken today as it was back then, which means the message of Genesis is just as vital today as it was back then.

Lyons Class

God doesn't just want us to read His Word, He wants us to know it and live its truth. We are studying the Gospel of Mark which is filled with timeless insights about who Christ was and why He came. It’s a first-century narrative with a healthy dose of 21st-century application. In Mark, we learn how to be a genuine servant and disciple. It is typically lecture-style teaching with class discussion each week.

The Journey

The group is currently studying the Book of Exodus. God never breaks His promises, and He never forgets His people. Through difficult circumstances the Lord used Joseph to bless not only his people, but the people of Egypt too. World empires and world leaders have short memories, however. It was not long until a Pharoah “who did not know Joseph” came to power and enslaved the Israelites for almost 400 years. God saw, He heard, and He acted by raising up a leader named Moses. When the Egyptians let God’s people go, their problems were not over. It did not take long for the Egyptians to second guess their decision and set out after the Israelites to destroy them. God would not let that happen and performed one of the greatest miracles told in the Bible by parting a sea to allow His children to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians forever. You might think that the Israelites would have been forever grateful, but they had short memories and tested God at every turn. Join us on Sundays as we study how God worked in the lives of the Israelites to deliver, protect, provide, discipline, and teach them by showing them His power, His nature, and His greatness. Teaching is typically lecture style, with video aspects and class discussion each week.

Ladies of the Lord

This is group is for ladies of all ages, married or single, that desire to know Jesus more. This group explores and discusses Biblical topics as they learn to apply these truths to their lives every day. This group is currently studying the Parables of Jesus. Jesus told stories that would stay with you. They might even make you want to change the way you lived--and that was the point. Jesus came to teach everyone that the kingdom of God is near and that it is coming--into our world, into our lives, into our heads and hearts. This study aims to help anyone who has questions about Jesus and what his parables say to us today.
