We can only locate a handful of psalms to a specific time, place, and circumstance. Psalm 51 is one of those. We know that David was inspired to write this powerful psalm after he was caught sinning by taking Bathsheba as his wife, deceiving her husband and ultimately arranging his death. It is a powerful psalm that serves as a model for repentance.

We say we have faith in God, but do we really trust Him? David's words convey his complete trust in God. Jesus used these words as He was dying on the cross and showed absolute dependence on God.
