Questions?

What is This?

June 4, 2023 • Kevin Brimner • Mark 1:21–28

The Bible asks questions that are worth asking and being answered. The Gospel of Mark poses many questions. Stay curious even when answers don’t come easily. Build toward fluency over simple information.

Who Can Forgive Sin But God Alone?

June 11, 2023 • Kevin Brimner • Mark 2:1–12

If you could ask God one question you knew he would answer right away, what would you ask? Be persistent - it’s worth the trouble to become the person God made you to be. Follow Jesus; begin by ordering your entire life around his authority.

Don't You Care If We Drown?

June 18, 2023 • Kevin Brimner • Mark 4:35–41

Before the next storm, remember: 1) Don’t pray for an exit strategy that compromises growing your belief 2) Fear and faith go hand in hand 3) Faith is extending the calm before the storm to calm during the storm.

Answer the Question

Platypuses, ticks and mosquitoes - why? Fight the temptation to reduce Jesus to an opinion poll. Discovering Jesus is a life-long pursuit filled with ongoing revelations.

Soul Exchange

July 2, 2023 • Kevin Brimner • Mark 8:31–38

What do you do when you realize you are working at the cross purposes of God? What is a proper response to being rebuked? The goal is to get Jesus to the cross (sounds odd, but it’s true). If Jesus doesn’t get to the cross, his mission and our only hope are lost. Jesus was committed. Satan offers Jesus the kingdoms of the world in exchange for his worship (temptation in Mt.), but Jesus is resolved/committed to exchange his life for our souls.

School of Greatness

Greatness is conferred more than earned.

Walk this Way

July 16, 2023 • Kevin Brimner

The path to success/forward isn’t always up and to the right. Jesus is on a mission: to serve and suffer accomplishing our success as well as modeling our path for us to follow His example. Jesus leadership and discipleship was presenting Himself as a ransom payment bringing deliverance to/for God’s people.

Recognizing Authority

July 23, 2023 • Kevin Brimner • Mark 11:27–33

Spirituality is a matter of belief and trust in Jesus’ saving work. The chief priests, teachers of the law, and elders were upset over Jesus’ clearing the temple (11:15-18).  Even with the back and forth and options the Jewish leaders were weighing, we are still faced with either accepting or rejecting Jesus’ authority. What tables do you need Jesus to turn over in your life? What habits need to be submitted to his authority? Unhealthy attitudes?
