Power

The broken signpost of power we follow is one riddled with corruption, war, abuse, slander and hate. Worldly kingdoms wield worldly power, while Jesus displayed God-given power to build an eternal kingdom. Do I look to Jesus to be a light to shine in the midst of my unbelief? Do I seek darkness to hide in guilt and shame? Do I look to Jesus for the victory he's already won for me?

Justice

On your worst day or most recent day of sin, Jesus’ first thought is not your condemnation. The true story of Jesus’ death on the cross is the story of the God who wants to stand between you and your condemnation. Justice is a signpost, an indicator that we’re broken and need Jesus.

Love

March 27, 2022 • Kevin Brimner • John 13:1–17

The challenge of love is that we apply it to everything-pizza, outfits and Saturdays. The effect of having many ways of looking at love leaves us disoriented. Jesus demonstrated his love to the disciples when he took on the role of a servant and washed their feet. Love ransoms, never subdues. My knowing does not remove the responsibility of my doing.

Spirituality

No purpose in life can be disconnected from the cross. My life disconnected from Jesus is actually death. My life connected to others is consequential. My life is sustained by the overwhelming proximity of Jesus.
