What is our motivator, goal, or focus when it comes to salvation? Who do I pursue?

When we believe heaven is the goal we set Jesus to the side. We seek saviors of many kinds in effort to achieve heaven rather than one who died to save. Heaven is simply a place, a consequence to choosing Jesus. There’s not relationship with heaven.  When we see hell as the only motivator for salvation, we miss the richness of life in him. He’s only a Savior and there’s no need to follow him. There's no sacrifice of life that follows our belief in him.  But Jesus was loving enough to save, so we could be so bold to follow. And through this series, looking at the first 11 chapters of 1 Kings, we are going to explore some common saviors we cling to over Jesus.
