One of the things the students look forward to the most each year is our paintball day. We head out to Legends Paintball in Spring and spend a few hours hanging out and playing. This is a great opportunity if you have a student in 6-12 grade for them to be a part of an event with our student ministry. It is only $20 to participate and that gets you hours of fun then lunch afterwards. You can find more information at the button above or by contacting our church office!
Summer Retreat is one of the most important weeks for your student. It is their opportunity to get away and focus on God and their relationship with Him. This year, we are taking our students to Hochatown, Oklahoma. We will be gone June 13-18. If your student is in grade 6-12 and they haven't signed up yet, we would love for them to be a part. Find out more by clicking the button above or contacting our student pastor at: http://garrett.sims@fbchuntsville.org
The National Day of Prayer was created many years ago for the purpose of seeking God intently as a country. This year, the National Day of Prayer is on March 6, 2021, and First Baptist will be hosting a community-wide event at the Walker County Fairgrounds for anyone who is interested. Lunch will be provided from 11-12 PM, with the service itself going from 12-1 PM. This will be a great time for our community to come together to pray for our schools, our leaders, our nation, and many others. We hope you'll join us on March 6th!
A Day of Fasting and Prayer for Good Friday: We will be having a day of prayer and fasting leading up to our Good Friday service, which will be on Friday, April 2nd at 6:00 PM in the sanctuary. Do you have a child in grades kindergarten through 5th grade? We are excited to worship with them during their very own worship time on Sunday mornings. After the Children's Devotional, during our worship service, they will be dismissed to the 2nd floor to have a time of worship that is specifically geared for them. You can pick them up in room 250 on the 2nd floor after church. If you have any questions, please contact us or ask one of our "welcome team" members on Sunday mornings.

Sunday, November 29th began the Week of Prayer for the Lottie Moon and International Missions Offering. Pick up a prayer guide in the foyer or by the chapel. Please pray how God would lead you to give to this special mission. If you're writing a check, designate "Lottie Moon" on the bottom line. If you are giving online, choose "International Missions" from the dropdown menu. You can give now through December 20th.
As we have done previously, we will be collecting a Christmas offering for our staff. Please prayerfully consider giving to this offering over these next few weeks. This is a great way to bless our staff during the Christmas season. You can give by writing “staff” on your check or by giving through text or the website (select "Staff Love Offering" on the dropdown menu). We will be collecting this offering through December 20.
One of our favorite traditions here at First is our candlelight service on Christmas Eve. This is a great opportunity for you and your family to come to church on Christmas Eve and refocus on what's most important. We will have a time of worship, a short message by Dr. Jason Bay, and even a short children's message for your little ones. We would love to have the opportunity to spend Christmas Eve with you, so we hope you'll join us!
With all of the craziness that we have had in 2020, it is great to have times where we can celebrate Jesus and spend time together as a family of faith. On December 13 @ 6:00pm, our worship ministry team will be performing some great Christmas music, and we would love everyone to join us. From songs like “White Christmas” to songs that focus on the birth of Christ, come join us for a time of music, laughs, and worship. The program will last about 45 minutes, and then, weather permitting, we will have cookies, coffee, and cocoa out in front of the sanctuary. We hope to see you then.
Our next kids event will be Wednesday, December 2nd from 6:00-8:00 pm. The theme will be Polar Express Night. Come in your Christmas pjs and be ready for dinner, games, hot cocoa, cookie decorating, and a photo booth. *Please RSVP by calling our church office at 936-291-3441 or clicking the link that says, "RSVP," scrolling to the bottom of the page, and filling out the "contact" form.*
