Jana Mitten began studying rest over a decade ago and she quickly discovered that this was a huge Biblical principle that most Christians gloss over. She found that rest was not just something God commands, but it's something He even gave us specific instructions for. Megan Britton talks about her journey as a single mom in this episode where we really focus in on how she dealt with the "breakup aspect" of single motherhood, all while being a mom to four kids in various stages of life. She talks about processing moments of fear and abandonment, and when she realized she needed some additional help from a counselor to work through some of those feelings. Megan is so brave to share her story, and we hope that all the moms doing it on their own will find hope in her story!! However, we know that God did not create us to be alone... "A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families..." (Psalm 68:5-6) With that in mind, Paula discusses how isolation negatively impacted her during the crisis of addiction she walked with her late husband. She also gives practical ways to get support and stay connected to others.
