All Things New

Zach teaches the first Gospel Sunday of 2021 from Luke 4. The first Sunday of each month, we focus specifically on the good news of the story of Jesus. Coming out of the Advent Season, Zach paused to ask why Jesus took on human flesh and stepped into our world. In Luke 4:42-43, Jesus gave us His Missions Statement: ‚ÄúI have come to bring the good news of the Kingdom of God.‚Äù Zach remind us that with Adam and Eve‚Äôs rebellion in Genesis, sin entered the world and ruined everything. The sin inside of us is far too great for us to overcome on our own. But, Jesus declares that He has come to bring a new Kingdom, a Kingdom of Good News, and as followers of Christ, we have been invited and called to participate in the expansion of God‚Äôs Kingdom and the making of all things new.

Participating in the Kingdom

June 16, 2024 • RD McClenagan • Acts 2:42–47

This Sunday at Fellowship, RD presented our budget for the upcoming year. We practice this yearly as our budget is member-approved. But we want to take this one step further: it's not just numbers and finances we want to be known by our body; it's part of the invitation into the work of the Kingdom of God. RD opens Acts 2, where we learn about the early church and how they dedicated themselves to the teaching of the apostles and breaking bread together. The scripture gives us an example of what we are invited into when in the church: a community that gathers, grows, and eats together so they can be sent out into the work of the Kingdom.

Like a Watered Garden

In RD McClenagan's first sermon as Lead Pastor of Fellowship, he teaches from Isaiah 58, emphasizing the concept of the church as a "watered garden," representing a thriving, abundant, and interdependent community under God's nourishment. He explores how the church should not be self-serving but should be vibrant and supportive, with members depending on each other to flourish, reflecting God’s unchanging vision and heart as revealed through Isaiah. RD calls us to actively embody the gospel by serving and supporting one another, thereby extending the church’s mission beyond its walls into the broader community, fulfilling the vision of being a dynamic, life-giving "watered garden" in their surroundings.

Well Loved to Love Well

April 7, 2024 • Rick Dunn • Joshua 1:5–6, Psalm 78:18

In Rick Dunn's final sermon as Lead Pastor of Fellowship, he looks at the story of Joshuah and encourages us to look to, run to, and run with God. He speaks of the importance of surrendering and being present with humility and vulnerability, rather than relying on performance or power. Rick reflects on his personal growth, recognizing the shift from a mindset of proving oneself to surrendering to God's grace and love. He encourages us to embrace the unknown journey of faith and trust in God's presence and guidance for the future.
