Who Are We Becoming

A Revealing Lifestyle

November 12, 2023 • Mike Waldrop • John 17:14–23

Its really easy to reduce complex assignments to simple checklists. And many of life’s pursuits can be accomplished simply by checking all the boxes. But is the mission God gave the church as simple as checking the boxes? Or is it a lifestyle that reveals the reality of Jesus and the greatness of God’s love? Join us as we consider these questions.

Catch and Release

November 5, 2023 • Mike Waldrop • Ephesians 4:11–16

“Catch and Release” is most often used when talking about fishing for sport and fun in ways that protect the fish and the fish population. For the church, Jesus catches and transforms people, and then we are to make disciples and release those disciples to duplicate that ministry to others. Join us as we consider Scripture’s teaching on being a church that is effectively practicing “Catch and Release”.

In Pursuit

October 29, 2023 • Mike Waldrop • Colossians 1:25–29

Our default perspective on spiritual maturity is often equated with the intellectual grasp of the doctrines and teachings of the faith, or with being consumed by physical acts of service, or with age and years of experience as a believer. But being spiritually mature in seen in a heart dependence on Christ, the intellect's understanding of the faith, and the hands working empowered by Christ to accomplish the mission we've been given.

Chasing the Wanderers

October 22, 2023 • Brandon Wolters • Ezekiel 34:11–16

All of us are looking for a place to be known, loved, and feel at home. However, all of us are dealing with something that causes us to pull away from relationships, church, commitments, etc. When we do this, we might think, “Does anyone else notice when I’m not present?” Join us this Sunday as we discuss what it means for us, as disciples of Jesus, to learn how to have a heart for those who have wandered and how to bring them back into the fold.

Discipleship: There’s No Such Thing as Rambo

October 15, 2023 • Brandon Wolters • Hebrews 3:12–14, Hebrews 10:19–25

Maybe you’ve heard these statements: “I love Jesus, but I don’t like or need the church.” Or “I have all I need – me and Jesus.” Are these statements true? Did Jesus intend for those who call themselves His disciples to “go Rambo” and do it on their own? Join us Sunday as we discuss what it means for us, as disciples of Jesus, to connect those who are disconnected.

What Do They Want?

October 8, 2023 • Mike Waldrop • Luke 15:1–10

Sometimes people in the church get so caught up with really good things that we forget part of our mission is to share the best things with people not in the church. Jesus was great at boldly going where no religious leader would go before, and He challenges us to be the same. Join us as we consider the challenge of going and sharing what we’ve been given.

Where do you live?

October 1, 2023 • Mike Waldrop • John 15:1–8

Jesus called the church to a mission and He called the people of the church to a life-giving, intimate relationship that equips us to pursue His mission. The Bible says that our lives “bear fruit” when we are in that relationship with Him. You’re invited to join us as we consider what it means to become a church filled with people “bearing fruit”.

What’s It All About?

August 27, 2023 • Mike Waldrop

Sometimes it feels like churches are in competition to see who can be the coolest, do the biggest events, or have the best smoke machines and mirrors. It might feel like there is some award for being the church that does the most. But Jesus said that the value of a church’s smoke machines and mirrors is only seen if they are being used to bring people to Him. Whether the church is big or small, busy or laid back it’s all about who the people in the church are becoming. It’s all about the church becoming the community of Christ. Join us as we explore “what’s it all about?”

A Dilemma Of Love

August 20, 2023 • Mike Waldrop • 1 John 4:7–21

In a culture where division, antagonism and condemnation of those different from us is common, what are followers of Jesus to do? Join us this week as we tackle the topic of loving each other. How do we get there? What does Scripture tell us? What can lead us to make it happen?

What He Said

August 13, 2023 • Mike Waldrop • John 14:15–23

“He who loves me follows my commandments” is one of the sayings of Jesus that has been hard to understand and abused over the years. But the truth of Jesus’ words is that He is simply describing our part in the process of learning to love God and become the people He designed us to become. Join us as we consider a life of loving God as we follow Jesus.

A Continuum Of Loving
