Sunday | Overview - 1 Peter 4-5; 2 Peter 1-3
November 10, 2024
This week we are wrapping up the end of 1 Peter and diving into the book of 2 Peter.
We open with Peter encouraging his audience of how to live; being alert, maintaining love for one another and using their gifts to serve others, with the goal of glorifying God. (1 Peter 4:7-10)
Next, Peter talks about suffering as a Christian. He encourages them not to be surprised when suffering comes. Instead, we are to rejoice and entrust our lives to Him, who is faithful. This letter is a powerful reminder of the hope we have in Christ, even during suffering.
In 2 Peter, he reminds Jesus’ followers to never stop maturing in their faith because God is faithful, just and righteous. He promises that “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).”
As you continue your journey of discipleship and grow in your relationship with God, remember that God is faithful and with Him, there is hope. No matter what challenges come your way, you can cast your cares on Him because He cares for you.
