Sunday | Overview - Revelation 18-22

Overview

December 22, 2024

Revelation 18-22 reminds me of the opening line of a classic novel, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…” These chapters describe a tale of two very different cities, and everyone has a choice in which one they would like to spend eternity. We have read chapter after chapter of God warning people and offering them opportunities to repent. In the third chapter of his second letter to the churches in the Roman province of Asia Minor, Peter writes of these “best” of times for the believer forever living in a new world filled with God’s righteousness…and the worst of times of destruction and eternal judgment for those who continue in their sin, living unrepentant lives apart from Christ.

So, for those of us who are in Christ, let’s live with an urgency of sharing the Gospel and continue to live righteously and be holy as we pray, “Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with everyone. Amen!” (Revelation 22:20b-21)
