Sometimes a new year represents new life or a fresh start ...
If you journeyed with us through the New Testament in 2024 through the Competitors Challenge, we just wrapped up the book of Revelation which included warnings to various churches, judgment, and the new Jerusalem. In Revelation 21:5, the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” Jesus, the giver of life reminds us that new life can only be found in Him. Just for a moment, take a little time to think about how much time you spent with Jesus in 2024. Did you hang out with Jesus often? Did you trust Him to guide your steps?? He invites us in Revelation 21:6, “to all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.” What do you thirst for? What are you filling your tank with??
It was obvious Jesus’ tank was filled with Scripture because when he was taken out into the wilderness by the Spirit, Satan tempted him multiple times and do you know what his response was?
Matthew 4:4 “the Scriptures say ...”
Matthew 4:7 “the Scriptures also say ...”
Matthew 4:10 “for the Scriptures say, you must worship the Lord and serve Him only.”
When Jesus was in the heat of battle, He referenced the Truth, Light, and Life that can only come from knowing God. What will get your attention in 2025? My prayer is that you hunger and thirst for time spent with Jesus - the only one who can give you abundant and eternal life. Through the Competitors Challenge, you can gather around The Messiah, The Savior of the World with a coachable spirit just as the disciples did in the Sermon on the Mount. “One day as he saw the crowds gathering, Jesus went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples gathered around him, and he began to team them ...” Matthew 5:1-2
