January 20, 2019 • Greg Perkins • Colossians 2:16–23

CLASS SIX: We will be discussing the the key points we have learned so far in Colossians; not being controlled by rituals or men's judgments; letting no one defraud you of your prize; and being under Christ, you are no longer under a law of duty.

In Him You Are Made Complete

CLASS FIVE: We will be studying a passage at the heart of Colossians, 2:8-15. Here we will see what we must guard against and what we must hold fast to, if we are to experience the promised victory of Christ (see 2 Col 2:14).

In Whom All Wisdom is Hidden

December 23, 2018 • John Morrison • Colossians 2:1–7

CLASS FOUR: We studied Colossians 2:1-7, learning of the agony of prayer; to grasp and understand the life we have been appointed in Christ; to grow in the greater knowledge of Christ--His sufficiency, superiority, and wisdom; to remain firm in Christ.

Every Man Complete in Christ

December 16, 2018 • John Morrison • Colossians 1:21–29

CLASS THREE: We studied Colossians 1:21-29, how where we once opposed Christ, we are now are brought near to Him; how Jesus suffered in the flesh and all who desire to live godly in Christ will also suffer; how God wanted the riches of His glory to be revealed to the Gentiles; and how every believer may come to maturity, i.e., to become more and more like Christ.

First Place in Everything

December 9, 2018 • John Morrison • Colossians 1:13–20

CLASS TWO: We studied Colossians 1:13-20, where we saw that Christ is exalted over all creation and that He redeemed us through His blood so that He could present each of us blameless before His Father. The implication for the believer is that we are not saved merely so we go to heaven, but so that each of us takes the steps whereby we become more and more like Christ until He takes us home.

Walk Worthy of Your Calling

December 2, 2018 • John Morrison • Colossians 1:1–12

CLASS ONE: An introduction was given for Colossians along with the anticipated schedule for the next 12 weeks. Each week, students will have assignments to complete during the week to enhance their growth in the study. Colossians 1:1-12 was discussed which included Paul's authority to write the letter, his gratitude for the Colossians' faith, and his hope for the church (i.e., the goals of the book). COURSE OVERVIEW: Some people’s Christianity is a deep argument about certain truths rather than serving God with joy and with power. Other people see Christianity as nothing more than things you must do and things you must avoid doing rather than growing in dependent faith in Christ. Colossians demonstrates the sufficiency of Christ and His grace to live the Christian life.
