David the Life of a King
The End of a King
November 26, 2023 • Josh Cribb • 1 Kings 1, 1 Kings 2
This week Josh finished off our series "David Life of a King" by teaching about David's last decree as king and his Death. This was a moment to reflect on our own lives and how the life of David can be a mirror to examine our own lives.
King of Kindness
November 19, 2023 • JR Blanton
This week JR paints us a picture of what God’s kingdom of kindness looks like through the life of David. Together we remember, as David did with Mephibosheth, that God is most kind in that He never forgets us. We are at the forefront of our creator’s mind through all that we face in this life. We are in the most vulnerable yet powerfully protected place when we operate with the awareness of the Lord.
Selfish Worship and God’s Holiness
November 5, 2023 • Jeremy Jenkins
This week Jeremy leads us in the study of worship in the life of David. We find that David was considered a man after God’s own heart. This consideration did not come from David’s perfect action but rather his correct intention. We often fail today to correctly conceptualize the separation between us and our creator. When we do so correctly we lessen the potential to worship our God in any way but selflessly.
Grace and Forgiveness
October 29, 2023 • Randy Southwick
This week Randy takes us through the end of David’s life and the beginning of the legacy that followed him. Through our study we see that much of David’s lust is reflected in his son’s life. David’s lack of integrity and accountability is directly tied to the failure of Amnon. This results in so much damage within the family that could have been prevented had David not allowed lust to rule over him.
Rescue & Reclaim What the Enemy has Stolen
October 1, 2023 • Neil Perry
This week Neil takes us through a time in David’s life when great pressure from the adversary caused the people to lose their joy. David found strength in God and knowing that He is good. He knew that the Lord would be faithful and his worship brought him through to be able to help strengthen the people. God is worthy to be praised even in the adversity and desires to strengthen us in our weakness.
Don't be overwhelmed by the opposition
September 10, 2023 • JR Blanton • 1 Samuel 17
JR leads us this week in the study of the life of David. We find in 1 Samuel 17 the epic of David versus Goliath which expounds the power of knowing the God we serve. David faces much opposition at this time in his life but the focus he has on the purpose of serving his God overcomes it. Instead of seeing the opposition David sees the opportunity to glorify God and in this he finds his victory.
