Abortion Ministry

Rescue those being taken away to death

LEGISLATIVE WORKSHOP: Brett and Daniel

May 1, 2022 • Brett Baggett, Daniel Chepkauskas

GOALS 1) Preparedness. 2) Confidence UNDERSTANDING WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE WILL BE NEXT LEGISLATIVE SESSION 1) Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization (15-week threshold). 2) Oklahoma SB612 (Felony/$100k Fine) 3) Oklahoma SB1503 (Texas Style/Heartbeat/Life of Mother Exception/Does not prohibit Abortifacients/Women held harmless). THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES BASICALLY HAS THREE CHOICES 1) Rule Abortion unconstitutional 2) Provide States with regulative authority (highest probability) 3) Impose arbitrary 15-week threshold (Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization) Oklahoma will be left with SB612 if Supreme Court “kicks-down” regulative authority to states. Oklahoma will be left with SB1503 if Supreme Court imposes 15-week threshold or takes no action. In either case, Oklahoma will not criminalize self-induced abortions (abortifacients, cases of physical harm), and abortion will be deemed a felony, not murder (unequal parity of law). SPEAKING WITH LEGISLATORS 1) Give honor to those who are in positions of authority. “Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed” (Romans 13:7). “Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor” (1 Peter 2:17). 2) We must know our material well and communicate it with grace. “Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature” (1 Corinthians 14:20). God says we are to be “speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15). 3) Be clear as to the purpose of the meeting (e.g. conversation about Abolition, co-sign or author legislation). 4) Lead the conversation. 5) Be willing to be flexible in the conversation. e.g. If the person does not know or yet understand abolition, the main priority is education rather than to ask them at that time to author/co-author a bill. e.g. If the conversation seems to be getting contentious, do not press too hard. Thank them for meeting and see if you can leave them resources. 6) Don’t hesitate to ask questions (e.g. legislators’ perspective on Abolition and their concerns) 7) Be sympathetic to Legislators concerns (they may actually be well-intentioned and not know any better). WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOU MEET WITH A LEGISLATOR 1) Pray for humility. 2) Find out their prior experience with abortion legislation (reach out to Daniel Chepkauskas or Rescue Those or Free the States). *Legislators who continually author pro-life legislation are much more prone to pride. 3) Make sure you understand this is not a speech, this is a conversation. 4) Understand the arguments leveled against abolition (e.g. one of many avenues, hurts conservative index score). 5) Understand the arguments leveled against abolitionists (e.g. Abolitionists don’t understand the legislative process). HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR LEGISLATIVE MINISTRY TEAM 1) Choose team leader; team leader will initiate and primarily lead conversation. 2) It can become overwhelming if more than one person is talking at a time. 3) Team leader should have best grasp of material and communicate well. 4) Other members of team help assist team leader during the conversation (e.g. additional information, examples). COMMON OBJECTIONS “I’m only one legislator” “We won’t be successful” The intention of ‘Pro-Life’ laws is to save lives. What’s wrong with incremental regulation of abortion? “The Supreme Court won’t allow it” “Abolition seeks to criminalize women” “Abolition provides no exception for rape or incest” “Abolition provides no exception for ‘life of mother’ situations” “This legislation nullifies the U.S Constitution” “If overturned by the courts, this legislation would effectively overturn all other pro-life laws in statute” “Why shouldn’t Oklahoma mirror Texas’ S.B. 8 (Heartbeat Bill) which was left effective by the U.S. Supreme Court?”

THE ROLE OF CIVIL GOVERNMENT: Romans 13:3-4

Brett Baggett • Romans 13:3–4

DOCTRINE: The role of those in civil government is to obey their Master, Christ, be a terror to evil doers, approvers of good conduct, promoters of good, and instruments of God’s wrath on the wicked. I. GOVERNING AUTHORITIES HAVE BEEN APPOINTED BY GOD AS HIS SERVANTS (Romans 13:1-2, 4) I) The Lord Jesus Christ is the King of kings and the Lord of lords right now (1 Timothy 6:15). II) All human authority is delegated by God, and therefore accountable to Him (Romans 13:1). III) A servant does not get to choose what he does; his duty is to be faithful to his Master (Luke 17:10). IV) The only way for a servant to concretely know what his Master commands is through his Masters’ words (Deuteronomy 17:18). V) The servant who makes it his aim to obey his Master will be rewarded (Matthew 25:21). VI) If a servant does not know what his Master commands, the Master will give him a beating (Luke 12:48). VII) If a servant does not do what his Master commands, the Master will give him a severe beating (Luke 12:47). VIII) If a servant turns into a tyrant, the Master will cut him into pieces (Luke 12:46). II. GOVERNING AUTHORITIES MUST BE A TERROR TO THOSE WHO DO EVIL (Romans 13:3a) III. GOVERNING AUTHORITIES MUST APPROVE OF GOOD CONDUCT (Romans 13:3b) IV. GOVERNING AUTHORITIES MUST PROMOTE THE WELL-BEING OF THOSE WHO DO GOOD (Romans 13:4a) V. GOVERNING AUTHORITIES MUST CARRY OUT GOD’S WRATH ON THOSE WHO DO EVIL BY BEARING THE SWORD, NOT IN VAIN (Romans 13:4b) There are many things in our day that God’s civil servants are doing that they should not do, but the biggest issue is that they are not doing what they should do—namely, protecting the weak and the innocent from those that would do them harm. And who is going to tell them their duty if we who are in Christ will not? CONCLUDING EXHORTATION I) Resolve to figure out what God’s civil servants are commanded to do by their Master, according to the Scriptures. II) Resolve to speak to God’s civil servants, according to the Scriptures, so that they may clearly know what their identity and duty is. III) Resolve to hold God’s civil servants accountable to their Master’s commands. IV) Resolve to love God’s civil servants enough to warn them away from the bad and exhort them toward the good. V) Resolve to confess to God and repent of any participation in or apathy toward the abortion holocaust that we have allowed to take place by not holding God’s civil servants accountable. VI) Resolve to love your pre-born neighbors, and, by faith, speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.

IS ABORTION ABOLITION BIBLICAL? selected scriptures

I. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT CHILD SACRIFICE? (Leviticus 20:1-5) I) The LORD has much to say concerning child sacrifice, which in our day is called abortion (v. 1-2a) Leviticus 20:1-2a “1 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2a ‘Say to the people of Israel...’” Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” II) Child sacrifice is particularly evil because it is the slaughtering of a blessing the LORD has given (v. 2b) Leviticus 20:2b “Any one of the people of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children (offspring, seed) to Molech shall surely be put to death.” Psalm 127:3 “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” III) Child sacrifice invokes both the physical and the spiritual wrath of God (v. 2b-3a) Leviticus 20:2b-3a “2b The people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3a I myself will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given one of his children to Molech,” IV) Child sacrifice is an attack on the worship of God and the glory of God (v. 3b) Leviticus 20:3b “to make my sanctuary unclean and to profane my holy name.” V) The LORD has something to say to you who close your eyes or remain idle concerning child sacrifice happening in your land (v. 4) Leviticus 20:4 “And if the people of the land do at all close their eyes to that man when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death,” VI) Closed eyes or idleness concerning child sacrifice invokes God's wrath upon you and your family (v. 5a) Leviticus 20:5a “then I will set my face against that man and against his clan and will cut them off from among their people,” VII) Child sacrifice is principally an act of spiritual idolatry (v. 5b) Leviticus 20:5b “him and all who follow him in whoring after Molech.” II. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT THE APPROVAL OF MURDER? (Romans 1:29,32) Romans 1:29,32 “[Idolators] are full of. . .murder. . . Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.” III. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT DOING EVIL THAT GOOD MAY COME? (Romans 3:8) Romans 3:8 “And why not do evil that good may come?—as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.” IV. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT GOVERNING AUTHORITIES SHOWING PARTIALITY TO THE WICKED? (Psalm 82:2-4, Proverbs 20:10) Psalm 82:2-4 “2 How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah 3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked." Proverbs 20:10 “Unequal weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the Lord.” V. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT THOSE WHO KEEP WRITING OPPRESSION, MAKING THE FATHERLESS THEIR PREY? (Isaiah 10:1-2) Isaiah 10:1-2 “1 Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, 2 to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!” VI. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT THE DUTIES OF GOVERNING AUTHORITIES? (Genesis 9:5-6, Romans 13:3-4) Genesis 9:5-6 “And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.” Romans 13:3-4 “For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.” VII. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT YOUR DUTY TO THOSE WHO ARE BEING CARRIED OFF TO DEATH? (Proverbs 24:11) Proverbs 24:11 “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.” VIII. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT YOUR WORSHIP WHEN YOU ARE INDIFFERENT TOWARD THE INNOCENT BEING SLAIN? (Isaiah 1:14-18) Isaiah 1:14-18 “14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates; they have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them. 15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. 16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, 17 learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause. 18 "Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.” END: HOW ARE YOU MOST LIKE CHRIST? 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-10 “[Christ] abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”

Family Worship, Training Men, & Abortion Abolition

February 17, 2021

"I interview Brett Baggett from https://www.rescuethose.com/ and we discuss his Shepherd School that was started at Ekklesia Muskogee, define family worship and encourage men toward that end, and the abolition of abortion. This episode was born out of my desire to teach people what abolition is and what it is not so that people may be freed from the errors of what is commonly known as the pro-life movement. I ask that you listen with teachable spirit. We discuss things like heartbeat bills and other pro-life strategies regarding abortion." — Michael Coughlin Check out https://biblethumpingwingnut.com/category/be-a-berean/ for Michael's podcast.

Tomas interviews Brett concerning Abortion Abolition

Does the Life of a Human Being Begin at Conception? What about Exodus 21:22? Why do you compare abortion to the holocaust? "The Fetus is Just a Clump of Cells." "The Fetus is Part of the Woman’s Body." "My body my choice." "Only Women Can Speak About Abortion." What about the separation of church and state? If you believe in capital punishment why not abortion? Why do you argue from the Bible, using religious terminology? Was Hitler a Christian? Do you seek to make abortion illegal or should also try and regulate it the best we can for now?
