Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

II) Child sacrifice is particularly evil because it is the slaughtering of a blessing the LORD has given (v. 2b)

Leviticus 20:2b “Any one of the people of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children (offspring, seed) to Molech shall surely be put to death.”

Psalm 127:3 “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”

III) Child sacrifice invokes both the physical and the spiritual wrath of God (v. 2b-3a)

Leviticus 20:2b-3a “2b The people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3a I myself will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given one of his children to Molech,”

IV) Child sacrifice is an attack on the worship of God and the glory of God (v. 3b)

Leviticus 20:3b “to make my sanctuary unclean and to profane my holy name.”

V) The LORD has something to say to you who close your eyes or remain idle concerning child sacrifice happening in your land (v. 4)

Leviticus 20:4 “And if the people of the land do at all close their eyes to that man when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death,”

VI) Closed eyes or idleness concerning child sacrifice invokes God's wrath upon you and your family (v. 5a)

Leviticus 20:5a “then I will set my face against that man and against his clan and will cut them off from among their people,”

VII) Child sacrifice is principally an act of spiritual idolatry (v. 5b)

Romans 1:29,32 “[Idolators] are full of. . .murder. . . Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.”

III. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT DOING EVIL THAT GOOD MAY COME? (Romans 3:8)

Romans 3:8 “And why not do evil that good may come?—as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.”

IV. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT GOVERNING AUTHORITIES SHOWING PARTIALITY TO THE WICKED? (Psalm 82:2-4, Proverbs 20:10)

Psalm 82:2-4 “2 How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah 3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."

Proverbs 20:10 “Unequal weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the Lord.”

V. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT THOSE WHO KEEP WRITING OPPRESSION, MAKING THE FATHERLESS THEIR PREY? (Isaiah 10:1-2)

Isaiah 10:1-2 “1 Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, 2 to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!”

VI. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT THE DUTIES OF GOVERNING AUTHORITIES? (Genesis 9:5-6, Romans 13:3-4)

Genesis 9:5-6 “And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.”

Romans 13:3-4 “For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.”

VII. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT YOUR DUTY TO THOSE WHO ARE BEING CARRIED OFF TO DEATH? (Proverbs 24:11)

Proverbs 24:11 “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.”

VIII. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT YOUR WORSHIP WHEN YOU ARE INDIFFERENT TOWARD THE INNOCENT BEING SLAIN? (Isaiah 1:14-18)

Isaiah 1:14-18 “14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates; they have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them. 15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. 16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, 17 learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause. 18 "Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”

END: HOW ARE YOU MOST LIKE CHRIST?

2 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-10 “[Christ] abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”
